Free Meals for All Students
The New York City Department of Education offers free breakfast and lunch to all NYC public school students during the school year (as well as summer meals to anyone 18 years old and under).
Lunch applications are given out on the first day of school. ALL families (whether participating in the lunch program or not) are asked to complete the form and return it to the school’s main office as soon as possible. While all meals are now provided free of cost, these applications remain vital to ensure that PS9 receives the appropriate level of funding from the Department of Education.
For a quicker and easier process than pen and paper, you can complete the lunch application online at: https://www.myschoolapps.com/Application
The Breakfast Program is available to all children at no cost. It begins at 7:35 am in the school’s cafeteria and ends at 8:10 am. Cafeteria personnel and one of the School Assistants are available to help during the breakfast program. Pre-Kindergarten students are served breakfast in their classrooms. Our school uses the Pre-K-8 Breakfast Menu.
School lunch is available to all students at no cost; our school uses the Pre-K-8 Alternative Lunch Menu. Families may also choose to send lunch from home. If your child brings lunch, please be sure that no glass bottles or containers, soda, candy or gum are included.
