PTO fundraisers are vital in ensuring that P.S. 9 has the resources it needs to give our kids an outstanding education. Over the past few days, you may have seen parent volunteers collecting donations outside the school. Our goal is to raise funds to help sustain and expand the quality programs, activities and supplies that our kids make use of every day.
Did you know, for example, that parent contributions helped fund the recent enlargement of the P.S. 9 library collection? In November, more than 600 new books were added to our library’s shelves, thanks in large part to PTO dollars. And with your continued support, we can help our librarian, Ms. Nelson, reach her goal of adding more than 15,000 new books to the library over the next several years!
Before school, during recess and throughout the afternoon, one of the more popular activities on the P.S. 9 playground is soccer. And over the course of the year, our goals take a serious pounding from our budding little soccer pros! Thanks to the PTO, however, this fall Coach Marquis was able to purchase brand new, upgraded goals that help give our kids a great outdoor experience on P.S. 9 grounds.
We’re grateful to all of you for helping to make these things – and much, much more – possible through your generous donations. Every donation, regardless of size, truly makes a difference! Learn more about how you can make a donation during our Fall Fundraiser here.
