On Thursday, Nov. 17, P.S. 9’s second grade classes will be visited by Caron Levis, the author of the picture books Ida, Always, (Atheneum) which The New York Times Book Review called, “an example of children’s books at their best,” and Stuck with the Blooz, which was selected as one of Bank Street College’s Best Children’s Books of the Year.
Caron is an adjunct professor and the advisor for The New School’s Writing for Children/YA MFA program, where she earned her degree. With a background in acting as well as writing, Caron is very experienced in taking the stage to share her lifelong passion for literature with kids. Caron will discuss her work and writing process in a multi-media presentation in the auditorium, and books will be for sale in advance through Greenlight Bookstore, our partner in this event.
A special thanks to P.S. 9 parents Sari Wilson and Brian Gesko, both also writers, who have been working to bring authors to P.S. 9.
