Barnes & Noble Book Fair Saturday to Benefit PS 9

Barnes & Noble Book Fair Saturday to Benefit PS 9

The Barnes & Noble Book Fair to benefit PS 9 is happening this Saturday, April 27th, at the Barnes & Noble Park Slope (corner of 7th Avenue and 6th Street, Park Slope).

This is a really fun event that benefits the school. PS9 receives a portion of all book sales—this can mean more than $2,000 for our school—and shoppers can donate books from our teacher’s wish lists to classroom libraries (we’ve gotten hundreds of books this way!). Please join us! If you use a voucher to buy books, you could win your child’s class an ice-cream party. If you can volunteer at the event (handing out vouchers, face-painting, etc), contact karen.fein@gmail.com.

In addition to this event marking the beginning of PS 9’s Readathon, fun activities planned for the kiddos include:

11:00 am – Violin performance
12:00 pm – Make a bookmark
12:30 pm – Storytime with Principal D’Avilar
1:00–2:00 pm – Teacher readings: Hear your favorite teacher read a classic children’s story.
2:30 pm – Ms. Basovitch and her 2nd-grade students perform.
3:00 pm – Temporary tattoos and bracelet-making.
4:00 pm – Face-painting.
5:00 pm – Kids’ Pajama Party with milk & cookies

If you’re unable to attend the event, you can visit BN.com/bookfairs and support us online by entering Bookfair ID 11050093 at checkout.
