Admission Information for Students Applying to PS9

Most elementary students in New York City attend their zoned school. A zoned school is a neighborhood school for all students who live in a designated area, and is determined by the student’s home address.

To confirm that you are zoned for PS9, enter your home address in the Find a School search tool (or call 311).

Early Childhood

Admissions for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten programs are handled by the New York City Department of Education. To learn more about these processes, visit the DOE’s website.

Grades 1 to 5

The majority of students in grades 1 to 5 who reside within the zone are admitted to PS9. Admissions to grades 1 to 5 are processed within the school by our Community Associate in charge of Pupil Accounting.
