Bilingual or non-English speaking children who score below a bench-mark on an assessment (that is administered by our ELL teacher when the child is first admitted into the school), will be placed in our ELL day program.  Ms. Shondra Hayward utilizes the Home Language Survey early in the school year to get a clearer picture on students who need this service.

 Among the new mandates for ELL are ones that emphasize more coordination with ongoing curriculum.  Our social studies and science curricula will support this mandate.  Time will be provided for teachers to meet with Ms. Hayward so that they may discuss their collaboration for this year.
