Each classroom needs a class parent to liase between classroom teachers and student parents. Class parents attend monthly meetings at the school, PTA meetings and accompany classes on field trips.
Parents may also volunteer on an individual basis during school-year celebrations and field trips.

Make a Difference in the life of a Public School Student, become a Learning Leader Volunteer!
Learning Leaders, founded in 1956, became the first school volunteer program of its kind and continues to support parents in instructional and non-instructional volunteer roles. Learning Leader traning sesssions will be conducted on-site at PS 9 in the fall. Please contact our parent coordinator, Charmaine Derrell-Jacob, to become a certified school volunteer.
