Goals 2011-12:
1. Fundraising: Increase the funds generated by the PTO for use in supporting our teachers, administration and children
- Expand fundraising committee to include a direct fundraising arm
- Greater efficiency in extracting funds from fundraising events
- More grants
- Outdoor market in renovated playground area
2. Sustainable structure: Create a lasting structure within the PTO that is transferable year to year
- Establish responsibility among officers & committees for recruiting and coordinating parent volunteers to ensure that the PTO is continually reaches out to the entire parent community for support during the school year ultimately increasing the core parent volunteer group.
- A step-by-step playbook which can be followed for every PTO supported school event or fundraiser
- To prove the financial viability of the PTO after-school care & enrichment program
3. Communication: Continue to improve the timeliness and effectiveness of communication between all parties relevant to PS9: the PTO, the school administration, the teachers, the parents, the local community, the DOE, other District 13 schools, and the New York City media while evaluating all current & potential verbal, written, and digital formats of communication.
