Parent Teacher Organization


At PS 9, our focus is on creating community and encouraging parent involvement. All parents are automatically members of our dynamic Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), which supports the school community and raises money for supplies, arts enrichment and more. You’ll see PTO members decorating the auditorium for performances,  serving cupcakes at school celebrations, and planting bulbs in the school gardens (pictured at right). Recent PTO success stories include our state-of-the-art library and our gorgeous new playground. Thanks to PTO fundraisers, including our popular Friday Movie Nights, we have been able to maintain an impressive roster of arts enrichment programming, despite deeper and deeper budget cuts. PTO members identify and apply for the grants that help us enhance your child’s education. A PTO committee created this website.
