We’re so excited to see all of you on the first day of school: Thursday, Sept. 7, at 8:20 a.m.!
There’s so much going on at PS 9, how do you stay on top of all the news, events, PTO meetings, performances and field trips? As you prepare for back-to-school, here’s a list of ways to stay connected with the PS 9 parent and teacher community.
2. CLASS PARENTS: Get to know your class parent, and use your class Shutterfly account. A lot of information is posted there. If your child’s teacher has not set up a Shutterfly account, as him or her to create one. Another class parent can help with the set-up, or reach out to one of the PTO officers for assistance.
3. TEXT: You will receive backpacked information from Parent-Teacher Coordinator, Ms. Charmaine Derrell-Jacob about how sign up for the PS 9 texting service. You’ll get reminders of school news and events on your phone.
4. NEWS AT 9: Ms. Jacob edits this very detailed weekly newsletter. It’s a must read! Contact her to sign-up.
5. LISTSERV: Did you know that there is a PS 9 Family Listserv on Yahoo! Groups? Any current PS 9 parent, guardian, administrator or educator can join — and you don’t need a Yahoo! email account. Post news, questions, concerns and appreciations in this private forum. Sign up at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ps9family.
